Connect Meta without sharing your password
Afford-X uses Facebook Login for Business (Graph v25). You sign in at Meta, pick an ad account, and we receive a delegated token. We never see your Facebook password. This is not custom-audience sharing.
What you click
- Continue with Facebook — blue official login button on signup or meta-connect. It sends you to
auth.afford-x.app, then Meta. - Review the Login for Business dialog. Confirm the business portfolio and ad account Afford-X may use.
- You land on Meta connected (HTTP 200). Nothing auto-opens. Click Continue — pick ad account if you still need to choose or confirm the act. That opens Business Manager in a new window on your click only.
- Stay on Afford-X returns you to the app. Compass (the green dock) can answer questions about this flow on any themed page.
What we can and cannot do
- Read-only (Continue with Facebook / signup) —
ads_read. Insights on ad accounts you grant. We cannot edit campaigns from this config. - Link / manage path —
ads_read+ads_managementwhen you use the heavier Login for Business config. Still only the assets you pick. - This is your Business Manager granting our app. It is not Afford-X’s own system user inheriting your BM. You can revoke under Business settings → Integrations → Connected apps.
If something looks stuck
After Confirm, Meta may keep a Business Suite “loading” tab. That is their Connected apps screen, not our callback hanging. Look for the tab titled Afford-X · Meta connected.
Work-email signup (the form under the Facebook button) is a separate path. Personal inboxes are turned away. Audience sharing is a later consent, not this page.
